Ministry is the heart and soul of any church. As ministry is the method by which God uses us to be His hands and feet in the earth. Ministries are simply specialized groups or departments formed to serve specific functions within the church community, such as worship, outreach, youth, hospitality, or prayer. They exist to foster spiritual growth, support the church’s mission, and ANSWER the diverse needs of the congregation and the wider community. These ministries help believers to actively participate in fulfilling God's purpose, build stronger fellowship, and make positive impacts both within and outside the church.
At Calvary, we believe that our work should be a reflection of the name we bear. “Calvary” The place where Jesus died. The place where Christ’s sacrifice reconciled our sinful nature to give us a brand new start, to make us new! Paul comes back later in scripture teaching us that when Christ reconciled us at Calvary we then were committed the work of “reconciliation” 2 Corinthians 5:18-19. Paul’s approach teaches us to view this ministry as a divine calling to bridge the gap caused by sin, bringing divine peace and reconciliation between humankind and God. His approach involved sharing the message of Christ’s redemptive work, embodying Christ’s love, and actively seeking to heal the broken relationship between humanity and God. For long, the mission of Calvary has been “to reconcile a broken community” But in times like these we recognize that we must reconcile
a broken world, and that through new technologies God has called us to advance His kingdom to heights unknown. That’s where you come in!
We do ministry for the purpose of reconciliation because God's ultimate desire is for all people to be in a restored relationship with Him. By engaging in ministry, believers participate in God's work of reconciliation, actively spreading the good news of salvation, forgiveness, and grace through works, and worship. Joining a ministry here at Calvary is picking up the mantle to be Gods catalyst in the earth. You have the direct opportunity to ensures that more people can experience the love and peace of God, aligning their lives with His purpose and bringing glory to His name, and giving them the brand new start that Calvary provides. Ministry, therefore, becomes a vital act of obedience and love, extending God's reconciliation to a world in need.
When you join a ministry here, not only are you fulfilling Gods plan, but you are experiencing the opportunity to develop your purpose! To develop your talents, deepen your faith, and contribute meaningfully to the Body of Christ. Ministry fosters unity, spiritual maturity, and a sense of purpose, enabling believers to be active, engaged members of their faith community and to electively serve God's kingdom on earth.
