Rev. Marissa R. Farrow, a native of Baltimore, MD, was born on June 19, 1989, to Bishop Robert E. Farrow and Evangelist Jacqueline Farrow, pastors of Mt. Calvary Church & Ministries, where she was launched into ministry.
On March 4, 2007, Marissa began her public ministry, preaching her initial sermon entitled "The Unshakable Call,” and quickly rose as a "young preacher" in the city of Baltimore. While there’s no perfect path to promise, Rev. Farrow found herself on a journey to academic success. eventually earning a bachelor's in business administration, with a concentration in entrepreneurship, from Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC, as well as a master of divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, and currently is a candidate for a doctoral degree from the same institution. After her ordination in 2013, Rev. Farrow served under the tutelage of the Rev. Drs. Floyd and Elaine Flake at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York. There, she was privileged to exercise her ministry gifts for 11 years as a preaching assistant, special outreach project coordinator, and social media director, and served until their retirement. On September 6, 2025, Rev. Farrow was elected by an overwhelming majority vote to the Mt. Calvary Church & Ministries of Baltimore, MD, where she would follow her father's 53 years of service. On February 28, 2026, this election will be sealed by way of sacred installation. |
Rev. Farrow has been blessed to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ from storefronts to stages, and souls have remained the goal and product of her ministry. From a teenaged voice to one of the most sought-after preachers in this country, Rev. Farrow has most notably ministered for the International AIM Convention for the Church of God in Christ, Inc., Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, DMV Joint New Year's Revival, and the final 3 Woman Thou Art Loosed conferences for Bishop T.D. Jakes and is one of the youngest morning preachers for the distinguished 110th Hampton University Ministers Conference.
She has also been blessed to carry the gospel globally to Nigeria and Lagos, West Africa, Dubai, and London, England. as well as multiple appearances on the word network.
She is the author of three books: Delivered from Dysfunction: A 7-Step Guide to a Better You, The Amazing Weight, and most recently "The Morning Cup," a 21-day prayer devotional inspired by her growing viral prayer community, reaching over 1.1 million views monthly. She is also the owner of Brown by Marissa, a Christ-cultured fashion brand.
She is a praiser, prayer warrior, preacher, podcast host, producer, and the proud “BEST FRIEND” to her “god gift,” Shamol-Ali, and she is just getting started.
